Just as bush tucker has been used to promote a healthy diet in indigenous Australia, Timor Leste is turning to its own local foods to combat high rates of malnutrition. Two restaurants are now serving dishes based on native produce. Many TImorese see indigenous plants as 'poverty food', so an Australian-funded project is educating them about the health value of eating local. South-east Asia correspondent Anne Barker reports.
