How to cook a Kupmari, Amai, Hangi, Fiji Lovo, Umu

Watch how to make incredibly succulent shredded pork in the style of kalua pig. You don't even need to dig a pit! Simply rub a pork roast with Hawaiian salt and liquid smoke, then give it plenty of time in the slow cooker. Serve the shredded meat on its own or top it with coleslaw and serve it on Hawaiian sweet rolls!

Making kalua pig with a small imu 2ft X 2ft X 1 1/2 feet deep. Smaller imu doesn't mean its easier. A larger imu is much easier to work with and it holds much more heat than a small imu. I used a water trench on the tarp to seal the heat from escaping.
